Iran strongly condemns Israeli airstrikes in Damascus
TEHRAN- The spokesman for Iran's Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed vehement condemnation of recent Israeli airstrikes on a residential building in the al-Mezeh neighborhood in west Damascus.
The attack resulted in the tragic loss of four Iranian military advisors.
Kanaani denounced the Israeli actions as a repeated violation of Syria's sovereignty and territorial integrity. He characterized the aggressive and provocative attacks as indicative of the perceived weakness of the Israeli regime in confronting resistance forces in Gaza and the West Bank, labeling it a "criminal and child-killing Zionist regime."
Emphasizing the need for a strong response, Kanaani called on governments, regional and international organizations, including the United Nations Security Council, to decisively condemn the aggressive, terrorist, and criminal actions of the Israeli regime.
Highlighting the role of Iranian military advisors in Syria, Kanaani underscored their official invitation by the Syrian government, stating that they play a crucial part in supporting Syria's efforts to combat terrorism and establish peace, stability, and lasting security in the country.
Kanaani asserted a direct link between the Israeli regime and various terrorist groups in the region, noting, "The assassination of Iran's military advisors by the Zionist regime clearly shows the deep and organized connection between this terrorist regime and various terrorist and ISIS terrorist groups in the region."
In a resolute tone, the Iranian diplomat declared, "Without a doubt, the blood of these high-ranking martyrs will not be wasted." He added that Iran, in addition to pursuing political, legal, and international avenues against these aggressive actions, reserves the right to respond to the organized terrorism of the Israeli regime at the appropriate time and place.
In conclusion, Kanaani offered prayers for the high-ranking martyrs, expressing hope for their high spirits and commending them as heroes in the fight against terrorism.
